Since they make a bitter "pest block" version of great stuff, I gotta assume rodents will chew through the standard stuff. Not right away but after it cures a few days they will.

It works for me, just be sure to stick the straw near the back to get it full from front to back. Didn't know if I could just put a shot of foam in there to seal up, or if they're used to going thru there, the mice would just chew thru it. Can feel a draft thru them so assume they must lead outside.
